Things I want to do
So in light of my earlier post about traveling, I thought I would compile a little bucket list of things I would like to do/achieve before, well, I kick the bucket. I suppose it’s more of a “to do” list than a bucket list, but whatever, technicalities. In no particular order and to be added on to:
- Travel the world ( √ Zambia 4 – 11 August 2011, Ireland 11 – 19 May 2012 )
- Trek through Africa in a truck – I have this vision of me sitting with my kids under a Baobab somewhere
Change my surname back to my maiden name – I have done this unofficially, just need to go get my ID- Buy my own property out in the countryside and live a self sustained lifestyle – Step 1 completed of this, renting for now, moved in 26 November 2011.
- Buy a car that is less than 5 years old – I bought a truck that just missed the mark last year it was 5 years old but it’s awesome and will do!
- Bungee jump
- Climb a mountain (planning to do Kilimanjaro first)
- Go on a meditation/silent retreat
- Create my soul retreat
- Stop working for a boss in an office (plan to this within the next year) – plans are in motion
- Go on holiday to the coast with my kids
- Go for a weekend away to a log cabin with a fireplace – kinda did this with my friend Tash, girls weekend away
- Go to Namakwaland in flower season
- Go to the Berg in snow season and build a giant snowman and have a snowball fight and make a snowangel
- Buy a decent camera
- Start a community gardening project
- Run my home off solar power (rental house has solar heating – that counts a bit)
- Learn to speak 1 x African language and Spanish (I would also love to be able to speak Italian)
- Learn to play the Cello – started lessons 21/09/11 (yay me)
- Write a book/s
- Home school my kids
- Continue to be happy
- Go on a road trip through South Africa (or any other continent for that matter)
Cool , how many have you done , and how many are you busy with ?
I have done nothing that’s why it’s on my “to do” list hehe. As I do them I will start ticking them off
I am busy with the studying one though..
Well 1 taken care of. 2 very soon. 12 almost, not log, but we can PUT logs IN the fireplace and 17 will happen shortly. Good progress!!

Berg in snow season is gorgeous. I have a bucket list, but I want to come up with 40 things to do in the year between my 39th and 40th birthday. Suggestions welcome.
